Sarasota Memorial Hospital Venice Campus welcomed its first baby of 2025 Wednesday afternoon.
Hunter, a 7-pound, 1 oz healthy baby boy, was born at 2:28 p.m to first-time parents, Faith and Dalton of North Port. He was the first baby born at SMH-Venice in the new year and followed 17 other babies SMH delivered at its hospitals in Venice and Sarasota during a rockin’ New Year’s Eve.
Angela K. Marshall, MD, First Physicians Group OB/GYN and the SMH-Venice labor and delivery team were thrilled to ring in the new year with this precious baby boy.
After allowing the new family a little privacy and time to rest, SMH-Venice’s labor and delivery team delivered a New Year’s basket filled with gifts for the new baby.
In all, SMH delivered 17 babies on Dec. 31, 2024, and 14 babies on January 1 across its two campuses. The last SMH baby born in 2024 arrived at approximately 11:30 pm, bringing the total babies delivered at the health system in 2024 to more than 4,500.
