M. Blair Marshall, MD, FACS, is now accepting patients at First Physicians Group Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Marshall is a board-certified thoracic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive robotic techniques for complex thoracic procedures of both benign and malignant pathology including chest wall and lung tumors. She also specializes in robotic surgery for end-stage lung disease, tracheobronchial malacia, esophagectomy and paraesophageal hernia repair. As a principal investigator for the single port robot, while at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, she performed the first single port robotic thymectomy in the U.S. She continues to develop innovative thoracic surgery techniques and presents and publishes on these procedures nationally and internationally.
Dr. Marshall received her medical degree from and completed her internship and residency at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. She completed fellowships – in thoracic surgery and cardiothoracic surgery – at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and held her first faculty position there before being recruited to be Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. She was Chief of Thoracic Surgery for 15 years where she grew the program both nationally and internationally before being recruited to Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. While at the Brigham, she held the Bell Family Chair for Innovation and was Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
