Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming a new Neuro-Interventional surgeon to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.
Juan Pablo “JP” Pauta Martinez, MD, is double board certified and fellowship trained in Vascular Neurology and Neuro-interventional Radiology. He received his medical degree from the Universidad de Cuenca in Ecuador. He completed his internship and neurology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia. He completed two fellowships – one for vascular neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, and one for neuro-interventional radiology at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Neuro-interventional surgeons perform interventions to treat vascular brain and spinal cord conditions such as stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, cerebral aneurysm, AV malformation, AV fistulas, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and tumors of the head, neck, and spine.
