Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming a new interventional cardiologist to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.
Timothy Fernandez, MD, is now accepting patients at FPG’s Venice Medical Office Building on our SMH-Venice Campus.
Dr. Fernandez is fellowship trained in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease. He specializes in treating coronary artery disease, rhythm disorders including arrythmia and atrial fibrillation, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, pericardial disease, and vascular disease. Dr. Fernandez performs a wide range of cardiovascular testing and procedures including echocardiogram and stress testing, angioplasty and stent placement, in-stent restenosis, pulmonary embolism and thrombectomy, rotational, shockwave and laser atherectomy.
Dr. Fernandez received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed both his residency and fellowships at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He is board certified in cardiology.
