Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming a new general surgeon to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.
James Shepherd, MD, FACS, is now accepting patients at FPG’s Venice Medical Office Building on our SMH-Venice Campus.
Dr. Shepherd is board certified in general surgery, vascular medicine and endovascular surgery. He performs surgeries for a wide-range of abdominal disorders including appendix, gall bladder, hernia, spleen, colon and rectum. Dr. Shepherd specializes in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, vascular medicine, abdominal surgery, AV access surgery and peritoneal dialysis catheters.
Dr. Shepherd received his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
