Sarasota Memorial Welcomes First Voice and Throat Specialist to FPG Provider Network

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming a new board certified laryngologist – voice and throat specialist to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.

Candace Hrelec, MD, is now accepting patients at the new FPG Laryngology practice in Sarasota.

Dr. Hrelec is a voice and throat specialist who utilizes high definition videostroboscopy to closely examine the structures of the throat, airway and vocal cords for a precise diagnosis. Microsurgery, laser procedures, or injection therapy, including botox, may then be used as part of an individualized treatment plan. Her specialties include voice disorders and laryngitis, early glottis cancer and precancer, vocal fold paralysis and spasmodic dysphonia, neurolaryngeal disorders, laryngeal cysts and polyps, swallowing disorders including dysphagia, aspiration and Zenkers, as well as glottic, subglottic and tracheal stenosis.

Dr. Hrelec received her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, OH and completed her residency at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. She completed her Fellowship at The Vanderbilt Voice Center in Nashville, TN.
