New Internal Medicine Physician Joins FPG Primary Care Team at Venice Medical Office Building

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming a new internal medicine doctor to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.

Alena Gerasimova, MD, will be joining Dr. Meghan Buhler, Dr. Reed Holland, and Dr. Christopher Jefferson in accepting patients at FPG Internal Medicine and Family Medicine at the Venice Medical Office Building on the SMH-Venice hospital campus. Dr. Gerasimova provides patient-centered, comprehensive care.

Dr. Gerasimova is board certified in internal medicine. She received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in True Blue, Grenada, West Indies. She completed her internal medicine residency with Florida State University at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Since 2021, she has served as an internal medicine hospitalist at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.  She also has experience working as a research assistant and scientist during her clinical training. She is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian and speaks basic conversational Spanish.
