New GYN Oncologist Joins First Physicians Group

Sarasota Memorial recently welcomed a new gynecologic oncologist to its First Physicians Group’s network of medical specialists.

Beverly Long, MD, comes to Sarasota from the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C., where she served as both assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of resident robotic training for 2 years.

Dr. Long will join Toni Kilts, DO, in a practice dedicated to caring for women with gynecological malignancies and complex surgical needs. The practice focuses on complex ovarian cancer surgery, fertility-sparing and risk-reducing surgery, and robotic and minimally invasive surgery, as well as biopsies and screenings. Board-certified in obstetrics (OB), gynecology (GYN) and gynecologic oncology, Dr. Long earned her medical degree in 2011 from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Ala., and completed her OB-GYN residency in 2015 at the University of California-Irvine in Irvine, Calif. In 2018, Dr. Long completed her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minn.

Dr. Long is now accepting new patients at the FPG Gynecologic Oncology practice (1888 Hillview St., Sarasota 34239). For more information or to make an appointment, please call 941-917-8383.
