Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming a new Gastroenterologist to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.
Jahnavi Koppala, MD, is now accepting patients at the FPG Gastroenterology practice on Hillview Street in Sarasota.
Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Dr. Koppala specializes in inflammatory bowel disease as well as women’s gastrointestinal and liver problems. Her additional specialties include colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG tube), esophageal dilation, variceal banding, hemorrhoid banding, and capsule endoscopy.
Dr. Koppala received her medical degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India and completed her residency at Saint Joseph Hospital, University of Illinois, Chicago, Illinois. Her Fellowship in Gastroenterology was completed at the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She stayed on at Creighton University Medical Center to serve as an assistant professor in Gastroenterology at Catholic Health Initiatives, Bergen Mercy.
