Dr. Marshall specializes in minimally invasive robotic techniques for complex thoracic procedures of both benign and malignant thoracic pathology. As a principal investigator for the single port robot, she performed the first single port thymectomy in the U.S. She continues to develop innovative thoracic surgery techniques and presents and publishes on these procedures nationally and internationally.

- First robotic fissure division for bronchoscopic lung volume reduction in the US and in Florida
- First single port thoracic case in the US and in Florida
- First single port chest wall resection in the world
She is the Editor-in-Chief of Operative Techniques in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and has also been the author of hundreds of publications. These include publishing several novel techniques, the most recent one is being presented at the International Thoracic Surgical Oncology Summit in September 2025. In addition, she has produced several videos on novel techniques on CTSNet with over 5 thousand views on her topics.
