Dr. Hanes is board-certified in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. He has been on staff at SMH since 2004 and joined FPG in 2018. He founded SMH’s Center for Neuromuscular Disorders, a multi-disciplinary clinic in partnership with the Muscular Dystrophy Association for patients affected by nerve and muscle disease, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)/Lou Gehrig’s disease. He has served as Director of FPG Neurology since its inception and has served as Chair of the Neuroscience Department for 4 years and Neuroscience QI committee for 6 years. He has also participated in the Medical Executive Committee of SMH of eight years. Dr. Hanes serves as a clinical assistant professor of Neurology with Florida State University.
His practice and specialty focus include:
- Neuropathy, myopathy, myasthenia gravis, carpal tunnel syndrome, ALS and other neuromuscular disorders.
- Diagnostic electromyography (EMG).
- Botox for post-stroke spasticity, dystonia, tremor, and chronic migraine
